Band #7 Confirmed

GZ...in the metal world you don't get signed to too many bigger labels than Nuclear Blast. Plus...maybe I'm in the minority...but I don't want any of my favorite groups in the hands of the EVIL MTV. Processed crap for the masses..."here John Q. Zombie...listen and watch THIS music."

I only have one Threshold CD, Hypothetical, but seeing everyones excitment for their live show gets interested even more. I'll have to start picking up other albums soon.

Well, this announement just caused me to make a decision on whether or not I'll be attending PP next year.

I'll see you all in October

Threshold, eh? Not bad. Not bad at all.

I don't know about best PP ever(I think PPVI had the best lineup), but it's certainly shaping up to be a good one. And of course we still don't know who three out of the four top bands are going to be.

Hmm, exciting! I will have to pick up an album or two. How lovely to get this announcement a day early now that I'm done with finals!

This made my day Glenn! Thanks! I also know that Burke must have shit himself, when he read that at work! With Threshold, Redemption, Vanden Plas and Sonata Arctica on the line up, this is shaping up to be another AWESOME PP!!! :kickass:  :notworthy

I am with pretty much everyone else here and is excited to see them. The singer's voice is just remarkable. Hopefully we will get like 2 or 3 acoustic songs being that their Wireless album is phenomenal.

By the way. People who havent seen Threshold are going to treated to one of the best drum performances of any PPUSA from Johanne James, that guy is just simply awesome!!!!

Bear

In my opinion HYPOTHETICAL is their best and then CRITICAL MASS, I believe those two are heads and tails above the rest, not that their others are bad, I just think those two are that good!!!

THose are my favorite 2 too. 3rd is probably Subsurface.
On the other hand Clone was pretty weak to these ears.:erk:

From the sound sample I have heard, I kind of expect the same response that Thunderstone had last year.

I can't say I hate the music, but I find it fairly generic at this point. Let's see if a live performance changes my mind though.

-Metal

Well...maybe I'm just a Threshold fanboy...but there is nothing generic about the music Threshold makes. There "sound" is instantly recognizable and their musicianship is unmatched. Mac rocks the mic with the best of 'em...Karl Groom (guitar) and Richard West (keys) flawlessly write and produce memorable melodies, and as Bear so keenly pointed out, Johanne James pounds the skins to perfection. I'm not sure why they have been tagged with the Progressive Metal label but one thing I do know...it's just damn good music!!! Thanks Glenn...what a great X-mas gift!!! God Bless you and your team. :notworthy
