Ok, so I figured I'd start a topic where we all post bands of absolutely ANY genre that we think other sneapsters will dig, and I will group them up into genre categories in this post.

Feel free to post anything from obscure german prog from the 70s to abrasive hardcore from the best kept secret in technical death metal. Anything goes here gents.

Also two rules for this topic:
No slagging off bands people post. You're not gonna like every band that gets posted.
No bitching over genres. Try and keep it fairly loose with the genre tagging guys.

I'll start us off:

Hardcore:
Converge
The Secret
Dead Swans
Architects
Circle Takes The Square
Rinoa
The Number Twelve Looks Like You
A Day In Black And White
The Dillinger Escape Plan
Glassjaw
Refused

Mono
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Foals
CocoRosie
Sigur Ros
Ghengis Tron

Metal:
Behemoth
Nile
Bloodbath
Opeth

Dodo (Isn't it Gareth? - Mind if I call you that?... I'm Chris! ;))

Ghengis Tron - Experimental
Carcass - Metal
At the Gates - Metal
Morbid Angel - Metal

Andy McKee - Acoustic Guitar (If you haven't seen this guy on YouTube - LOOK HIM UP - Fucking AMAZING guitarist)
Kaki King - Acoustic Guitar
Michael Hedges - Acoustic Guitar

Dunno if everyone will dig Ghengis Tron - just got into them myself, but thought they were different and unique. I also really dig acoustic guitar - there are 3 picks up above that you should check out - all extremely good players (and Kaki King is a cutie ;))

And, I felt it was my duty to add 3 of the most badass metal bands ever (although there are many, many more worth mentioning - I don't want to eat up the whole thread!). :headbang:

Chris

Put Antoine Dufoure into the acoustics bit, he is intense.

Ignominious Incarceration is a band I'm really into at the moment, as well as fellsilent but I don't know of the genre.
