Amorphis yes I remember the first song from the Elegy Album yes it's very oreintal indeed.
The first song from Tales From The Thousand Lakes (not including the intro song) has an oriental melody as well. Quite a lot of Amorphis has oriental melodies. Like from the new album, Eclipse, Perkele God Of Fire starts off with a snake charmer. The sax piece from Alone off of Am Universum has a very oriental melody

You've just made me anxious to hear their last album :headbang:

Eclipse is like the bridge between Elegy and Tuonela. There are some death metal vocals but a lot of amazing clean vocals.

Just wanted to say the "Hellfire" songs and music are very good indeed, but the problom is with the production, these guys have the talent to make good music ,but the sad thing is that the environmnet around them dose not help,I am sure enough to say that if these guys had the chance they would produce briliant work.

Not a middle eastern band, but quite a nice asian folk Metal band, is Rudra from Sangapore.

If you like classical indian music, you'll love to hear it in an extreme dark metal version.

I love Rudra! Awesome band. They remind me of Melechesh a little. Different scales and style of folk melodies, but the music style is a little similar.
