The second time I went to go see these guys play. They were playing at a hole in the wall in the valley. Their site advertised. "We will be filming so bring all your surgical equipment". My buddy (Climb Thar Hill) and I go to the drug store and buy surgical masks to fit the mood. We drive to this shitter in the Porno District of Los Angeles. What do we see to our dismay? A hundred punk rockers. Well, no offense to anyone here, but I'm not a fan of "punkers". Not because I don't like the music (which I whole heartedly disdain), but because every punker I dealt with in my teen years was a complete and total asshole. Almost got stabbed by a half dozen of them because one of them claimed I said something to his mom. Well anyhow we decide fuck this, and turn around and go back where we came from, rather than spending a night elbow to elbow with a bunch of spiky haired ass hats. Major piss of an experience.

Luckily I caught them a month earlier at the century media christmas gig.

I repeat...No offense to any punk rock lovin fan here. Don't want to start a flame war or anything. :-X

Do you think they showed up just to get on the camera? I mean, it's not like you normally see punks at shows with Carcass type metal bands right?

By the way, are Impaled from SF?

Yes they are from the Bay Area.

I think the kids that went to this venue, go to every single "loud" concert that the place offers. Like it was their "hangout" or something. :erk:

Impaled is pretty fucking good live I may add.

Impaled were a trip live, got to see Ghoul too, I almost like them more than Impaled. Negura Bunget is really the one band I want to see live the most.

Psychotic Waltz
Rush (i canceled my trip to their gig in Germany in 2004, only few days before departure)
Pentagram (and i will never see, because Liebling is w-a-s-t-e-d now)
Trouble (this band i might see in Spring)
Solitude Aeturnus (same as Trouble)
St. Vitus
Count Raven
Shadow Gallery
Symphony X

And others, but these come to my mind first.

I've seen a good deal of heavy/epic/thrash/power/prog i like. Only doom remains..

I always wanted to see Megadeth, and then they split up, and then they (read: Dave only) started a band again which he also happened to call Megadeth and so I saw that band, but it wasn't really MEGADETH. Oh well, I got that out of my system. sorta.

I want to see Death In June sometime but Doug just called it quits (for tours anyway) lately.

As for the others (bands that actually play live shows anyway)

Blood Axis
Waldteufel
Current 93
Agalloch
Primordial
Moonsorrow
Mourning Beloveth
Helrunar

probably some others as well, and none of that seems likely since I live far out of the way of the usual touring routes. Maybe Portland will have some good concerts in the future, seeing that Blood Axis, Waldteufel and Agalloch are from there.

Still kinda sad that I didn't take any action to try to get to this at the end of last summer:

in the woods... (not gonna happen)
slayer during hell awaits tour (also not gonna happen :loco: )

katatonia
moonsorrow
isis (will see them in may)
skepticism
agalloch
dies natalis
witchcraft (hopefully someday)

if you like those bands you should check out splatterhouse, i wish i had some of their shit but i heard it the other day and it's awesome. their vocalist is Brutal with a capital B :kickass: a friend of mine who is a death/gore/grind maniac, loves impaled and ghoul, is a big fan of this band.

and impaled are from oakland, whoever asked
