I'm not in a band, but I always get pissed when I can't hear the bass in the mix. I'll probably end up using a lot of mid and low treble.

well, i think a bass should sound different from the guitar except during the chorus, then you can combine them both for a real heavy sound, but during the rest of the song i like to hear every single instrument and be able to determine what each one is playing
