Haven't heard Taake yet, though I've heard they're excellent raw black metal.

However, Einherjer's one of my fave viking bands, so that's where my vote goes.

Einherjer. Taake is good and all, but I can't listen to Nattestid Ser Porten Vid all the way through, but I can listen to Odin Owns Ye All for countless times. I think I listened to it all day when I got it in the mail.

Well, I listened to the stuff from Norwegian Native Art. Not really my cup of tea, but I quite like the "pleasant" keyboards with the heavy guitars. Otherwise it'd be a very arid and typical band.
Although, I can't help but feel the music is somehow "silly" and "fun". Is it meant to be??

Edit: Yes, it must be, 'cause I just looked at their pictures. Can grown men actually want to have their pictures taken like this and be serious about it??

I don't know how easy it will be to find songs from Taake, but the entire Nattestid... album is good.
