Hi guys, I literally never do any self-promoting bullshit, but now it's a really hot period in Poland. Batushka has dissociated into two parts; there are basically two Batushkas at the moment, the one of the original guitarist Krzysztof Drabikowski, and the other of the vocalist, Bart Krysiuk. I'm not into the band at all, I mean, I liked their debut, but people from Poland tend to masturbate to this band, and the whole drama just put me off.

Basically, the matter is that the page I write for got to review the new album of Krysiuk's Batushka, and it's the very first review on the web. I got to translate the shit from Polish into English, and it's right below my words. So, feel free to read it, comment, or whatever. I know self-promoting shit is annoying as hell, but as a member with quite a considerable wealth of experience, I find it pretty interesting how my metal journey has evolved throughout the years. I joined the site back in 2012 as a kid who listened to stuff like Trivium, and with this board, my music knowledge has broadened to an unimaginable extent. The same goes for my command of English language, which is like the most important thing to me nowadays. So yeah, started from scratch listening to shitty pop metal music, to interviewing Joe Duplantier, Tomas Lindberg, or Steffen Kummerer. So yeah, even if you dont like Batushka, you can just read it for me to see how I've changed over the years. I really am in debt to this forum for getting me into the music I cherish and worship. I've spent lots of great moments here, and I still dont remember who got me into The Chasm, Doomsword, Acid Bath, or Yob, but yeah, you definitely made my life better. So thanks to you all, maybe my rant is quite cringeworthy, but I just wanted to share this shit.

So, if you will, just enter the site given below and click "Double review in English (PDF File)". All kind of comments appreciated. Keep supporting this site and hopefully some of us will get to meet someday. Cheers, my dudes!

Neither of the reviews is mine. I've just translated them into English, and it was a hard task since the reviews written by my colleagues were really convoluted so to speak.

To clarify, it's the vocalist's (Bart) Batushka, the one that isnt out yet. It is due out on 12th of July. The one entirely uploaded to youtube is the guitarist's (Krzysztof Drabikowski) Batushka. So basically the one reviewed here is the one people call "fake", but I dont really care as I dont listen to the band anymore, haha. The debut is all enough for me.

It's basically this: Its funny cause Metal Blade disabled comments and ratings, which says it all about the anticipated hatred towards this iteration of the band. Bloody mess.

I was coming to the general forum to discuss the new singles, which I thought were great. But I hadn't heard about the split. Is the "real" Batushka not going to pursue legal action over using the same name? This situation seems ripe for a lawsuit (but I have no idea what the procedures are like in Poland).

So is this the good Babushka or the bad one?
This is the "fake" one. Drabilowski was the one who wrote and recorded the debut and brought Bart on board when the album was almost finished.

You can tell this one has a totally different songwriting, since it's a bunch of session musicians that had nothing to do with the band at all, vocals aside.

At the moment, Bart (the vocalist) is winning the legal action. Drabikowski is barred from using the name "Batushka". A pretty shitty situation and that is why I'm sick of thinking of this band. I just did the translation to have my name on it, haha. And, by the way, the real question is which Batushka is "real" in reality. Drabikowski may have composed the music for the debut, but he's also a professional liar. He made a victim of himself, and people still follow him after his youtube exposure. I don't really care which iteration of the band is better. I think there are lots of equally interesting projects to go for, no questions about that. There's always lots of trouble when money takes hold. When they felt it coming in, they immediately started fighting for the rights over the band's name. Travesty.
