DO you think it's good for guitar? The other guitarist in my band says that it's actually masters the guitar sounds so I have my MIDS scooped so as a result my guitar is less obvious.opinions??./...

Muahahahahha! That means that

a) either your guitar playing is shit and that's why he wants you to be "less obvious" or

b) he's a prick and wants to be louder than you and that's why he wants you to be "less obvious" ...

But seriously: who want to have his guitars "less obvious"?? Guitars are all about mids. Especially live ...

HEY check my post HE is the one that tell's me not to buy it.I think it's good but he says that it scoops my mids.AND NO IM NOT A SHITY PLAYER

This has been covered in another thread. One of the first things I checked for when I found the forum was Mr Sneap's take on BBEing guitars. He posted "no no no no". Four no in a row is pretty decisive.

BBE don't just scoop the mids, it takes all the oomph out - presumably 'cos it works by messing with the phase. No amount of eq before or after will put the punch back into the sound. I know 'cos I've owned one.

SO YOU THINK I SHOULDN T BUY IT????

btw Don't listen to anyone who uses exaggerations like "big piece of shit" - it can be bad for them simply because they can't set it up properly.

I spent a week adjusting the knobs... all it did was remove everything from my recto that I liked about it... including overall volume... so, it might not be a "big piece of shit" as in what you would define a "big piece of shit" as, but as far as guitar tone goes, it doesnt help it at all. IMHO

YMMV

Hope it works for you... if you can try it out before you buy it... or if you can return it if you dont like it, then go for it.

I returned mine.

no.

do not buy it.

avoid at all costs.

if you think you need this thing what you likely really need is a new amp or to set the one you have properly.

Yeah but that's Andy Sneap. Unfortunately not all of us have the talent (nor the time) to get his tones. I've had several rush jobs where the BBE has saved real crap tones from certain death (a la dark side powers/anakin, different story there). Plus Brett uses it and he's turned out some real killer shit.

I don't use it when I get good guitar tones straight to disk.
