Hello everyone. This is my first post here. My band is in the process of recording two albums worth of material. Its all being engineered by me and somewhat by one of the guitarists. But 98% by me. We are putting out this single first before we really delve into the whole process. My room is really really less than ideal for tracking or mixing but its what we have. I think the dimensions are around 19'x11'x6'. tallest ceiling ever i know. Some info about the track. drums are real (I'm drummer) except snare which is about 80% replaced with a slate sample. 4 tracks of guitars, 2 for each guitarist. one rig is ibanez (dont know the model right now) into fender bassman 300 powering an ampeg 8x10. other is another ibanez i think into a line6 spider 3 powering an avatar 2x12 with a v30 and t75 in that. All with a sm57 and all that going into a tascam us-1641 into reaper. Im pretty happy with the mix so far but I think i might be losing some perspective. Ive been messing with it for over a month now off and on. we didnt really get the best tone we could have with the bassman so those guitars kind of sound shitty to me but not shitty enough to retrack lol. I still need to balance the backup vox too so keep that in mind when you listen. Anyway, would appreciate some feedback on it before I smash my head into my desk trying to get it "just right". Also the lyrics are quite offensive, You've been warned. Oh also bass was through an svt pro into the same 8x10 as the bassman was and miced with a d112. http://m.soundcloud.com/bosoga/britneyrough1
