ProgrammedDrums is a rough mix of my band's EP (no vocals or bass yet, guitar is extremely middy and doesnt have much lowend so I'm hoping to get a bass tone that'll fill that up).
Drums programmed in Sibelius (where I do my composing), into Sonar's SessionDrummer into Drumagog (painful process), with samples from my drum kit (everything but the kit).
Guitar is a POD X3 Live, with a cheapo guitar ($500AU or something) with EMGs (I'm not a guitarist, don't know the details ;p).
Keys are MIDI.
I think it turned out realistic.. a few fast fills not so much but in these days of quantising and sample replacement I find THAT the problem rather than programming.
Also check out "Damnation Toms", my attempt at imitating some of Opeth's toms from the Damnation album. Again programmed. OH and close-mics used - I think it turned out pretty well... for a 5 min effort ;p
