nothing perfected so far, these are not the final reamps, just the tone we're using for tracking....
Mic levels etc aren't set properly, no EQ (other than HP/LP) etc...
so not the final tone definitely, but it's kind of in the ballpark already....
and I gotta say I'm digging my Marshall cab more and more ;)

Time to show some g12t-75 love!

there's something very odd about those palm mutes at the beginning, like there's no real chug, just overtone. Probably more the playing than the gear and setup though.

It definitely sounds good overall, the fizz is near perfect IMO. It sounds nicely connected to the playing.

I have to say, Lasse, I was surprised that these weren't your 'go-to' speakers with the kinds of tones you normally shoot for. They are certainly voiced towards that sound a lot better than V30s.

Glad you're finding them useful. Give us a heads up if you ever nail that elusive Chaosphere tone!

Digging the tones man. I've been using my Marshall cab a lot lately too.

At band practice tonight my other guitar player looked at me and said "dude, your tone is really snarly tonight, and makes mine sound a little bit weaker...what is the deal?" and it was most definitely because I was using my Marshall cab.

I'm keen to hear this tone in a mix man. It has that aggressive fizz on the top, but it still maintains a very smooth/full sound, which is really nice.

Nothing sounds better IMHO than a cab with the 75s and the v30s in and x pattern for live use... I would imagine that it would be awesome to mic each type of speaker in the same cab and mix it in...

Hi Lasse,

Sounds great to me, I think I must have exactly the same taste
in guitar tone as you.

You have combined the tone of the two best sounding amps ( in my opinion )
and they complement each other perfectly. The mid scooped sound of the bogner
fits perfectly with the mid boosted sound of the mesa.

My suggestion ( dare I make a suggestion to you !! ) is that you
complete your experiment and also combine the two best sounding
speakers ( g12t-75 + V30 ). The resulting sound would be described
as Recto+Bogner+g12t-75+V30. I would love to hear that combination.

Hi Lasse,

I dont know if speaker blending works as a technique for recording
or not but this is what I had in mind :

Take1 : Bogner -> g12t-75
Take2 : Mesa -> V30

and then blend Take1 and Take2 together.

I might try it myself and see !!!

why not use 2 mics?

thennn take 4 takes. wall of sound

I'm loving the T75 tones you've been getting Lasse and I think they are some of your best. I'm still trying to figure out why the 1960A cab gets very little praise around here. Sure, its a little trickier to mic up than your standard V30 cab, but I think it beats the V30 "in the room" any day of the fucking week. If it sounds great in the room and shitty miced, well then someone's doing something wring in the micing process. I want to go on the record and say that I've been swinging from the nuts of the 1960A/B for a long time around here!

I had a lot of experience with the 1960A cab early on. The main problem was that I was usually using a Powerball with it, so you can imagine how successful that was...

It has a very dry sound which I did inherently like more in the room, being a Chaosphere tone fan, but the V30s make mic'ing and seating a tone in the mix much easier. The T75s leave a sort of 'hole' which needs to be covered by bass grit otherwise the guitars will sound hollow.

Btw, new clip sounds great Lasse.
