Ampblends 5150+Krank / JSX+Krank / Recto+Krank

since I've been reamping this riff through some different amps anyway I thought I could as well post some blends.

all clips have 60/13.4 HP/LP and a very narrow 0.8dB notch at 4.2k.
1xsm57 on Mesa Cab


the krankenstein is always panned 80%L/R (tracks3+4)
the other amps are panned 100%

JSX+Krank
Recto+Krank
5150+Krank
Recto+5150
Recto+JSX
JSX+5150


when comparing, make sure to adjust the volume so the levels match.
the 5150 had a bit more gain than the Recto and JSX...don't care, don't have the time to reamp with less gain atm

Recto+Krank is my favorite. Too tight for my (new) taste though. ;P

rectifier sounds best to me, followed by the 5150. The JSX doesn't really do it for me.

Personally I vote for the Jsx/krank....or the Jsx by itself from your other thread, can't decide. It's tighter that the 5150 and more saturated from the recto.

I don't know if I'll have the same opinion if I hear them in a mix though.

might well be, it's just something I improvised quickly (or thought so), might well be that I had it stuck in my head from something I heard earlier

I'm of no real help here. I think they are all good tones that I could see myself using in different projects.

hmm, I can tell which one I dislike most but which one I like most is harder.
the 5150 definitely comes in last for me. I really love the lowmid growl of the recto but I also like the character of the JSX. I guess it really depends on what the project needs.

Part of the riff really reminds me of a riff from the song you reamped for me... it may be a coincidence or too much reamping got to your head ...haha.
