Behringer C2 Mod?

I have a pair of Behringer C2 Condenser mics that I bought some time ago, and they suck.

So anyway, today I was browsing Digikey and saw that they sell electret microphone condensers. I have some soldering experience, so I was wondering if it would be possible to replace some the components (mainly the electret condenser itself) to improve the microphones? My only reservation would be buying the correct parts, as to not short out the circuit, and then of course there's the problem of the rest of the microphone sucking so badly that an upgraded electret wouldn't make a difference.

I don't have a ton of electronics experience, so to someone who does.... is this possible?

they dont suck at all!! i record most of my overheads with em! some stuff behringer are shit at, but these mics and their patchbays have lasted me yearsss!

Yeah I like them on overheads as well.

Hmm, well I will say the last time I used them was about 3 years ago, and it was through a Behringer 4 channel mixer with the RCA out run into the line in on my old Gateway's built-in soundcard

Maybe they will sound better going into the Profire...
