The BBE Sonic Maximizer is the audio equivalent of beer goggles. May seem like a good idea to pick someone up after a few drinks (hey, nothing wrong with a Russian GMILF, right?) but when you wake up sober the next morning you will fucking regret it.
That said, those units just look like overglorified versions of the same shit you could get for free in software. Complete with gimmicky Behringer bullshit - ULTRATUBE circuitry, everyone, for when NORMALTUBE circuitry just isn't fucking ULTRA enough! - and everything. I make no secret of my dislike of Behringer gear, as it's all just a shameless ripoff of other people's work with no more creativity than the ability to slightly modify names just enough to not be infringing copyrights.
