Same as Spawny's post except minus a poll haha. And the winner for me is:

ALICE COOPER - WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE (1975)

Honourable mentions must go to:

Van Halen - Van Halen (1978)
Kiss - Rock & Roll Over (1976)
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies (1973)
AC/DC - Let There Be Rock (1977)
Judas Priest - Stained Class (1978)
Paul Stanley - Paul Stanley (1978)

For me it'd have to be one of the following...

Rush - 2112
Yes - The Yes Album
Yes - Fragile
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Those are the ones that I can think of at the moment which really stand out.

I wouldn't have a clue!

I don't own much from the 70's at all really, but I'm sure there's probably a decent Sabbath album or something that would top my list.

Billion Dollar Babies kills Welcome To My Nightmare dude.

If only Fozzy had released their album before they got lost in Japan.. It would have been f'king HUGE!!

Sabbaths: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paraniod & Self Titled.
Deep Purple : Machine Head.
Led Zepplin : Four Symbols.
Thin Lizzy : Live and Dangerous
Meatloaf : Bat out of hell.
ZZ Top : Fandango
AC/DC : Highway To hell / TNT
Areosmith: Toys in the Attic
Abba: Arrival

Yeah Billion Dollar Babes is a masterpiece but so is Welcome To My Nightmare.... I like Nightmare better just, mainly coz of how well it flows from start to finish with the whole Nightmare theme, and because it's more theatrical and dramatic, and also because Years Ago/Steven/The Awakening is the coolest 3 tracks in a row ever on an album!

There isn't even one remotely weak spot on the entire record. Billion Dollars Babies imo has some of the best Alice songs ever, but isn't quite as consistent all the way through.
