What Doesn't Die is the best album and concert opener, it still blows away everything else when I hear it on the radio.
As for the best album opener ever, I think it's Holy Wars...The Punishment Due.

Jesus. I got slaughtered on this pole. Just curious how many of you have heard AIR live. Have they done it with John?
Yes, they have.
They did it in '93 a lot. They also did it in '96 a bunch, 98 a bunch, and 2000 on the Killer A's tour. (not an exhaustive list, of course.) They don't appear to be playing it very much right now. Perhaps they're taking a break.

Thanks, I saw them in 93/4? SOWN, 95/6? Stomp and 2000 Max Rock tours but don't remember them doing it. And I was sober at those shows. BTW Rush is a cool band. They were my first gig back in the day with Garry Moore.

I wanna see AIR really bad. Any, I chose Random. I don't know why. It depends on how you word the poll. Best Anthrax Opener. Are you reffering to the actual first "song"? Or "opening"? So I went with song. Random. It was just such a powerful song.

I honestly think Among the Living is one of the best songs ever to open a rock album. It encompasses al that is Anthrax, to the most overblown degree of audacity. It's absurd offset harmonies, dramatic flams and hi-pace punk beats manage to display malice, grandeur, adventure, mockery and bitter sarcasm all at once.

Anthrax were brilliant, but it was their "goofy" side that helped set them apart from the pack. They were a brilliantly talented and hardworking band, but could afford to take risks and not give a shit about what anyone thought. From the moment those trills came in, you could feel that personality taking over. :hypno:
