Hey guys,

We've known for a few years now that amp sims have given some perfectly usable clean tones. I've been out of the loop on sims of late though, and I'm curious which is currently leading the pack for best tones.

Suggestions?

Actually enjoying Amplitube Fender for this. Pretty much all it does is cleans, haha, and based off of the best cleans ever (IMO).

I'd like to hijack this thread for a second, and ask, what's the best sim for guitar solos? I remember hearing Nick Crow something, but that was a long time ago...

Lextac and AMPLITUBE. What you want to do is load LEXTAC with one of the BRIGHT settings. Then open up AMPLTIUBE and bypass the AMP and only use the FX effects (flange, chorus, reverb, etc.) You cannot go wrong.

I like soloC or LE456 for leads.

I'm with a few of the others here, I've always loved Fender type clean tones and Amplitube Fender does a great job. Now with the free version of Custom Shop you can try out the individual models and find the one that has the sound you want prior to committing to the purchase so experiment.
