That was the hardest poll choice I've ever had to make, btw.

I voted Death, either because they were better than their peers at the time or because they created the sound that many modern bands have built upon.

I choose Opeth, because of Morningrise (mainly), Orchid, Still Life, and Deliverance. And even their two worst albums (IMO) are still amazing.

Susperia?? :err: :guh: They're arguably not even death metal and, even if they were, they're hardly deserving of that high-profile list! Vindication was a peice of shite.

blah, uh, I dunno. Not Nile cuz Shrines was disappointing, not any of the melo deathsters cept mebbe DT, not Morbid Angel cuz they're scary, um oh hell I give-up.

Malevolent Creation.

They were my first TRUE Death Metal Addiction, and they paved the way for a lot of other bands.

10 Commandments, Retribution, Stillborn and Eternal are definitely some of the best DM ever...

It may not be the most brutal, or most technical, but it was some of the first.

Death is also great, but I listen to In Flames more so they get my vote. I liked Control Denied beter than the Rest of the Death stuff.

Great bands on there, but I have to give Morbid Angel the nod because I have listened to them the longest. Also, they have stuck to their guns without getting stale like no other band.
