They wont win. This is Maiden Downunder.
On the upside, Nicko will not win either.. So we're not entirely stupid.

I voted for:

Lombardo
McBrain
Porntoy
Ulrich
Peart
Paice

Neil Peart had damn well better win this poll. I think near every drummer in the world would vote for him (well, the ones that have heard him).

Two "what abouts" immediately come to mind.

What about:

Alan White
Mark Zonder

I think near every drummer (from every genre) would vote for Vinnie Colaiuta..

Tommy Lee. No drummer gives the songs he plays a kick in the ass like he does.

Add Eric Singer to the next one. He is one of the best drummers in rock. His resume speaks for itself I think, you don't get hired by Kiss, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Gary Moore, Lita Ford and more unless you're awesome.

Should add Eric Carr as well. He was no slouch... assuming we're talking all-time drummers and not currently-drumming drummers.

Clive Burr was good too, better than Nicko IMO. Add him to the next poll.

Eric Carr's live drum solos were amazing. The way he incorporated his electronic drum pads into the solo rocked and made it alot more interesting because he was playing a tune at the same time as a drum solo!

Lombardo, Bostaph, Portnoy, Carey, Menza, Paul.

What about Gene Hoglan and Richard Christie (sp?)?

Yeah, Eric Singer! :headbang:

Yeah :) Psycroptic isn't really my slice of cake, but he's a jaw-dropping drummer
Try standing behind him while he is playing... biggest mistake of my fucking life! :erk:

I voted for Flo Mournier, Dave Haley, Mike Portnoy and Virgil Donati

Out of those 4 I'd say Flo is having the biggest effect on my playing

I'm a Van Halen freak, so I'm going with Alex......especially in his younger days, rhythmically he was waaaay out there.
And this kit is fucking awesome.

Ulrich... HE'S UNDER-RATED. Sure, technically he gets blown away, but he has some of the best drum tracks I've heard in songs. Disposable Heroes and One still make me shit my pants because of the drumming.

Lombardo... because... I don't know. He's fast? ;D

Bonham... because of Moby Dick I guess. After watching Song Remains the Same I realised what all the hype was about. He's just awesome to watch. And he knows how to make it rokk.

ADD PHIL COLLINS TO THE NEXT ONE!

BOM BOM DOM DOM DOOSH DOOSH BOOSH BOOSH...

I can feel it coming in the air tonight!

Oh, another one I forgot - Randy Castillo. RIP.

I remembered Cozy Powell today. RIP him too.

Rick Allen as well - sure, he cheats by using heaps of pedals, but he was great when he had two arms as well.
