Get one of the Les Pauls. They are pretty good. That or a strat I guess. If you go to Guitar Center, somebody there can help you. It depends on your amp though too.
Your tone comes mostly from your fingers. If Eddie Van Halen played through
Steve Vai's setup he'd still sound like Eddie Van Halen. The type of guitar
you play doesn't mean shit.
Slash uses a low gain mid-low tone as a base with heavy gauge strings.
Use this with any electric and you're likely to get a similar result as opposed to
trying a million guitars and not being able to do it.
