New topic !
What do you think is the best instrumental songs out there?

Personally I'll mention :
Metallicas - Orion
Dream Theater - Erotomania
Symphony X - Death Of Balance Lacrymosa
Avantasia - A new Dimension
Finntroll - Svampfest
Moonsorrow - Tyven
Ayreon - Chaos (energetic!)

I think these are great instrumentals. Keep em coming!

Well I would have to say Medwyn Goodall 'Moonlit whispers'...Doubt anyone would have heard of that. But as for metal goes I will have to dwell on it further before giving a true vote.

Iron Maiden - Transylvania, The Ides of March
M.S.G. - Into The Arena

I know there are more out there but I can't remember them! >_<

Heavenly - Break the silence

I think that this instrumental song is so great but there is an other Heavenly song which is so wonderfull:

Heavenly - Lonely tears

For those who hadn't heard it, you have to do it. Thanx Fred "rocco" Leclercq for this wonderfull song.

Yes, those Heavenly instrumentals are good.

It's ok to take instrumentals from movie soundtracks too.. to make it more interesting :)

The Time Machine Sountrack - Godspeed (Klaus Badelt)

the theme music to Shrek

called "S" is an awesome piece of music

also Spirit and the Tarzan sound tracks are great !!!!

pick of the litter though IMHO

Erotomania - Dream Theater

shivers down the spine every time

Meta/Rock:
Annihilator - Liquid Oval
Gamma Ray - Induction
Human Fortress - colloseum
Rainbow - Snowman (Love the version on Bent Out Of Shape)
Rainbow - Weiss Heim

None Metal:
Themes from Conan The Barbarian & El Cid

Shit, yeah, non-Metal is where the other triumphant instrumentals are! >_<

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Fanfare For The Common Man
Final Fantasy 7 - Still More Fighting!
Final Fantasy 9 - Rose of May
Final Fantasy 9 - The Dark Messenger
Final Fantasy 9 - You're Not Alone!
Focus - Sylvia
Focus - Hocus Pocus
Incantation - Chahapaya (christ knows how you spell it...)
Elton John :erk: - Song For Guy
Most of Hlidskjalf by Burzum

I know there are still some rock/metal ones I've forgotten >_<

Iron Maiden - Transylvania
Iced Earth - 1776
Metallica - The Call Of Ktulu
Saracen - Menage a Trois

Outside of the metal/rock world, too many to list. But there are lot of great soundtracks in Final Fantasy games, Suikoden games and the original Wild Arms (haven't played the sequels).
