Best metal albums of 2014

Noble Beast's self-titled rocks incredibly hard, huge recommendation for them.

The new Grave Digger and Accept are incredible too.

Revocation's new one was a surprise for me, I fully expected it to be subpar based on that first single, but then I heard Scorched Earth Policy and it blew my mind. Incredible record.

But my AotY is hands down the new Exodus. I'm a HUGE Exodus fanboy, and this thing way surpassed my expectations. Not a single weak moment on this record.

At The Gates takes the cake so far, I've also really been enjoying the latest Cannibal Corpse album. And Bloodbath is released today, let's see how that turns out...

Wow, I can hardly think of anything I've liked this year....sad. Good thing I've been rediscovering classics lately.

Just remembered the new Obituary. I did dig that.
Started to say the first Everything in Slow Motion album....came out in 2013. Dang.
I did like the new U2 album for the most part. Bring on the hate.

I just finished listening to Xerath - III. Finally they have a good production + listen to dat dere snare. This album is easily the AOTY of the year.

I don't listen to a lot of current stuff, but those were pretty good.

Darkenhöld - Castellum
Take Over And Destroy - Vacant Face
Waldgeflüster - Meine Fesseln
Valdrin - Beyond The Forest
Sólstafir - Ótta
Kelthuz - The Nihilist
Ghost Brigade - IV: One With the Storm

I no order, the stuff I listened to the most this year:

Slipknot - .5: The Gray Chapter
Devin Townsend - Ziltoid 2
Demon Hunter - Extremeist
Austrian Death Machine - Triple Brutal
Avatar - Hail The Apocalypse (although IMO The Black Waltz was better)
Origin - Omnipresent
Nonpoint - The Return
In This Moment - Black Widow

Honestly this year was a solid meh for me except the slipknot album and the Devin album.

- The Contortionist: Languages
- Sanctuary: The Year the Sun Died
- Mastodon: Once More 'round the Sun
- Exodus: Blood in, Blood out
- Closure in Moscow: Pink Lemonade

Well, maybe not all of them are considered metal, but that what comes into my mind
