Best Metal Love Songs

Whats better then hearing Mikael screaming "I swear I will always love you"?

Not hearing Mikael scream "I swear I will always love you"...?

Anyway, here are some of my favorites:
Judas Priest - A Touch of Evil, Desert Plains
Black Sabbath - NIB
Praying Mantis - Lovers to the Grave
Scorpions - Animal Magnetism
Queensryche - Walk in the Shadows, I Don't Believe in Love, Jet City Woman, One and Only
Type O Negative - Blood and Fire
Motorhead - Love Me Forever
Tiamat - Lady Temptress

I know I'm forgetting a bunch...but I don't listen to metal for the love songs!

I wouldn't count PTW, cause they're more emo/hardcore, and that style is notorious for being mostly about love and nothing else. The song titles are so cliche it's hilarious. Fuckin' A music though.

btw, I can't believe I forgot N.I.B.!

Opeth-Nectar

Easily the winner.

I wholeheartedly agree. Those lyrics are fucking beautiful, although "To Bid You Farewell" is a close-second.

As for great metal love songs, there are many...
Queensryche-"I Don't Believe in Love," "Eyes of a Stranger," and of course,
"Another Rainy Night (Without You)":

"Remember making love in the rain?
Strange how laughter looks like crying with no sound
Raindrops taste like tears without the pain.
I'm not much without you, can't leave
if I wanted to. maybe that's why you stay around.

But tonight I'll sit here tending the fire
and pace the floor one hundred times in an hour.
And check the voice-mail for a message you've called."

Also:
Anathema-"One Last Goodbye"
Dream Theater-"Learning to Live"
Steve Vai-"I'll Be Around"
Iron Maiden-"The Evil that Men Do"(A peculiar choice, I know, I'm not even so sure it can be considered a love song, but oh well)
Iced Earth-"I Died For You"
Savatage-"Not What You See"

And of course, my personal favorite...
Savatage-"Strange Wings"(A classic)
