I like Zimmer's stuff but my most favourite movie composer is Basil Poledouris. His Robocop OST is pure magic.

I also like soundtracks from movies like:

If this would have been a music video, it would have been the best ever. I'm actually not the biggest King Crimson fan around, but in this movie it was EPIX!

Conan the Barbarian has the best orchestral/symphonic soundtrack without a doubt. Jurassic Park has a good ST also. Not nearly as good though. The band Domine made a kickass song based on the whole soundtrack called the aquilonian suite part 1.

FUCKIN EPIC, lotr sucks billiard balls in comparison. Best opening theme ever.
