For those of you putting Threshold at the top must've not been at PPIII. This year's performance was OK but didn't come anywhere close to the show they put on in '02.

I told several people this weekend that I loved the Threshold set during PPIII, but their set on Saturday was SO much better. Mac's a great singer. I love his voice. I also love Damien's voice even though they're nothing alike. Damien did a great job on Mac's tunes, but he also was a good . . . err . . . GREAT! frontman. Mac performed great at PPIII, but had very little energy and IMO didn't get the crowd involved. Damien did that so well, that I'd say he was one of the top 3 or 4 frontmen I've seen at PP.

This was a very tough call for me. I went in mostly for Threshold and thoroughly enjoyed their set, but Firewind and After Forever really kicked my ass! I knew I would like Firewind, but they surpassed my expactations. I would've been much happier without Steven Frederick getting up there. Yes, he can sing, but his stage moves were a distraction and weird. With that said, I was relaly looking forward to seeing Gus tear it up - and he did! However, that other guy on lead guitar and keys - HOLY SHIT!!! He was awesome on guitar but when he finally took the keys and tour it up, I was amazed. When he did both at the same time, I went nuts! Great stage presence by all (except Steven) and the ripping playing and interplay swayed my vote by a tiny margin over After Forever. But honestly, I thought every band did great that night! Not a PF fan, but they did put on a good show.

I found the dead time between After Forever's songs very annoying. After almost every song Floor would go to get a drink of water and wipe her face, the guitarists would tune up, etc. It just felt like everything came to a halt for about a minute until they launched into the next song. Was anyone else bothered by this? I don't think they need to reach the Edguy level of band/crowd interaction but I really felt that they lost a lot of momentum with the dead time.

Firewind made a fan outta me,even though I listened to them before the show
After Forever was good, but since I own three of their cd's and don't listen to them/don't plan to,they were as expected, professional, tight,Floor was fucking edible...not impressed
Primal Fear...I own 5 cds, lost interest a few years back, but they were pretty awesome
Threshold...they were good, but not my thing
My vote goes...Firewind...Primal Fear...After Forever...Threshold
