Neither at this point ...
As of right now I only own a few Iced Earth CDs and some Savatage. I guess that means I could say Saturday, but I'm not intensely excited for either band at this point the way I have been for bands in past fest line-ups.
I'm not saying that this year's line-up is bad, or that I won't enjoy myself. There's always at least a few bands every year that get put on the bill that I know nothing about ... and usually I end up loving at least one of them. But I have to say that at this point, I'm really hoping for the Showcase to bring at least two bands that I'm a little more familiar with so I don't have to go totally broke trying to learn about/familiarize myself with/collect catalogs of all these bands.
I've got Nick (DemonOfTheWoods) as a great in-house resource, so I'll at least be able to get a taste for most of the other bands. From what I've heard so far, I'm thinking the bands I'm most likely to latch onto/enjoy are Iron Savior, Elvenking, Amorphis, Pathosray, and Serenity. The other's I'll check out, but nothing has struck me - so far - about the other bands as anything I will be adamant about seeing. I'm not opposed to that changing and I hope it will. But I always like to try to have purchased for myself at lease one CD of each band on the roster before I get to ProgPower.
It's just feels like this ProgPower is going to be a lot more work for me financially than any other ProgPower. (And that's a little overwhelming, especially in a year where one of my main goals is to get out of debt.) I guess that's part of what's making it hard for me to get excited the way I have in years past.
