well Iced Earth was just annnounced as onof the headliners.
anyone planning on going? linup is:

Iced Earth
Riveside
Jon Oliva's Pain
Iron Savior
Volbeat
Andromeda
Rob Rock
Elvenking
Spheric Universe Experience
Pathosray
Serenity
i'm not decided on whether or not to go. it'll depend on the other headliner

I haven't missed a PPUSA yet (kinda have to go, too, now that I work for the promoter ), & am really jazzed to see IE with Barlow again.

Riverside, Andromeda, & S.U.E. are the only real draws for me. Too bad Astral Doors dropped off. l won't be buying a ticket unless at least a couple of those bands ends up on the opposite night of Iced Earth...then l'll get a one night ticket from someone that will just attend one night...which l'm sure will be from a Barlow fanboi.

Barfest may be the show for me...assuming they pull it off this year.

I LOVE Heathenreel, it still gets played regularly around here..none of their other cds have been able to compare.

the first album i heard from them was Winters Wake or whatever. It was horrible, and one of my friends explaned to me that Heathenreel was the only thing they've done that is really fantastic. Upon checking it out, i was really floored that any band could put out something that amazing only to follow it with extreme mediocrity.

Oh wait... metallica.

edit: but yes, Heathenreel itself justifies the band's existance. Really great album.

I was listening to the new Elvenking this morning on the way to work. Man... that's a really, really terrible album. :(

I wish they'd just stop fucking around and do heathenreel part two

NO! That's a bad Doomsday Zach! Haven't you learned from history?

Or maybe you meant in terms of how the album should sound and not an actual part 2.

The hell are you talking about? Mindcrime part 2, land of the free part 2, keeper of the seven keys - the legacy...

oh...

(yes i meant sound and quality of songs as opposed to the crap they've been putting out lately)

I'll be there....

You, again! jk dubs. Haven't seen you at any Chicago shows at of late. What gives?

And I don't miss a ProgPower, certainly not this one. Riverside alone is enough for me.

Haven't missed one yet, and I don't intend to start this year. I'm not too big on Amorphis being announced as a headliner, but there is plenty of other bands that make it worthwhile to me.

Still dealing with a sick parent, most of my free time is taken over by dealing with that. Weekday shows are useless as I work M-F 3-1130pm, except for Wed & Thurs, where I do 3pm to 3am.

Contrary to what an ill-informed French Canuck has had to say :heh:, there's plenty reason to be at Prog Power. The Iced Earth set with Barlow will be somewhat historic, I've always liked Iron Savior, Spheric Universe Experience is going to rock, Andromeda will be cool, and Volbeat will be a fun set. JoP is always entertaining, and I look forward to hearing Rob Rock & band. GREAT singer. I'd love to know how much of this stuff people have actually HEARD before shitting on this fest....

No hints at what the showcase has to offer yet, but it's shaping up to be awesome as usual. Fuck the naysayers, and puke on the crybabies!
:Puke::waah:
