sonata arctica is a great power metal band. so is firewind, although their new one looks to be a massive let down, at least if their new single is anything to go by.

Fates Warning on "The Spectre Within," Jag Panzer, Helstar, pretty much any band with good riffs and powerful vocals. Grating constant double bass, speed picking with no variation, mickey mouse choruses, perfect production and wimp vocals can be fucked off.

They're complete crap.

I agree on Blind Guardian, they have the tendency to be silly, but "Imaginations from the Other Side" is a monster album.

Their first two are classics, of course, but I wouldn't call them power metal.
