Best produced 'Death' album?

Hmm that's a hard one. I'd have to go with 'The sound of perseverence' in spite of that guitar sound being abysmal to my ears. The way everything sits together in that album is amazing. The drums are always clear cut, powerful and above all sound natural. The bass is also given some decent room.

If it wasn't for the guitar tone, I wouldn't even have had to think twice about it.

I personally prefer the production on "Human" to any of the other albums...It just sounds fucking tight!

...but then having Paul Masvidal and Sean Reineart as musicians helped alot.

But the best production technically speaking would have to be on "Symbolic" or "Sound of Perseverence"

I agree......the material on 'Human' is very heavy & technical as a result of the involvement of the Cynic guys and was well ahead of it's time for '91. Then again, the stuff on Spiritual Healing is pretty damn good too. But yeah, best production is '...Perseverance'

I like the drum sound on Sounds, and although the guitar tone suits Chuck pretty well, I think Symbolic's production is the best of their Discography. Now, if I were choosing my favorite album, it would most definitely be Human, which sadly suffers from one of the thinnest sounding death metal productions ever. Still a sick piece of music, though.

Human is my favorite Death album cause of the music and the contributions of the musicians he had then. But in my opinion, production is poor. The next album by them was better production by far I think and then I'd have to say Symbolic and sound of perserverance have best production. Maybe Sybolic being my favorite. Its really easy to let our emotions about the music make us think production is good when its really not all that.
