Best way to decouple a 2x12?

Hello everyone

I've been making my first attempts at mic'ing my 2x12, but both with an 57 and a SM7B, I'm getting a lot of bass flub- (I dunno if the ''low'' volume I'm using is in part to blame?)

I placed the cab on top of a wooden furniture so it aligns with my ears (say, as with a monitor) but I'm thinking the drawer furniture may be making things worse for the low freqs-
I'm not liking the amount of bass that gets transferred to the floor (even with mild bass settings) and it's also bleeding bad onto the recording.

So, I've been thinking of either placing a gramma thing in between the furniture and the 2x12, or getting an amp stand for it.

I don't know if there are any other options, or what would be the best thing to do?

Thanks to all

Try putting a folded, thick blanket between the cabinet and the piece of furniture. That should decouple the cabinet. But you are probably right, the furniture is probably resonating causing the excess bass.

Hooks are not good for me unless I want a sudden direct view of the night sky..
Same reason why I don't have a sex swing-

I'm guessing attachable casters could be another option maybe?
