Not sure where if I posted this on the right subforum lol. Problem is one side of my room is basically 60% made of windows and i'm wondering how I can reduce external noises. Would thick curtains do the trick? I was also wondering if there are any specific kind of windows for the job.

The simple answer to this is mass. Curtains and thin treatments with do nothing to the low end of the spectrum. I bunch of high frequency absorbtion will also probably skew your rooms sound as well making it "dead" sounding, not in a good way. I have found 6 inches of OC703 or alike works well. This is also why you see the classic room within a room, the mass of the double wall and spacing is great for killing low end. You cheapest way is to surround the instrument your recording with thick gobos/dividers and bass traps.

Good luck.
