Bests of 2009

OK seeing as no-one else has done this - what's everyone's best of's for 2009?

Let's do top 5 records (last year was too bloody good to have just 1), best concert attended, and fave movie for the year.

Records:
1. Megadeth - Endgame
2. Shadows Fall - Retribution
3. Baroness - Blue Record
4. Lamb of God - Wrath
5. Mastodon - Crack the Skye

Concert: Megadeth. Slayer were also to join them but pulled due to Tom's voice dying on him, but Dave and Co tore it up for nearly 2 hours and absolutely ruled.

Movie: Inglorious Basterds (Tarantino's 2nd best ever is awesome).

Living Colour - Chair in the Doorway (Album of the Year). At first I listened to this baby and thought ok, it's not that bad but after a few listens you realise just how much this grower is such a killer and multi layered album. It's got probably for me the single of the year in Behind the Sun. Vernon, Will, Doug & Corey are simply 4 of the finest artists on the planet. Easily their best since Vivid in my book and that's saying something too.

Worthy others: Megadeth (Endgame), LOG (Wrath) & Slayer (World Painted Love ... ), Street Sweeper Social Club, Stryper (Murder by Pride - yes I loved this band since day 1)...

Movie of the Year: Avatar (hands down)... James Cameron delivers yet again!

..I thought about looking into this disc, Vivid is forever burned in my memory, but I still havent forgiven them for Collideoscope.

Ive had a bit of a hard time trying to think of 5 albums i liked this year but here goes, oh and honarary mention to Metallica's Death Magnetic because im still listening to that a lot!!

Ah great call Descendant... I get to see FNM in just over a month's time. My dream is finally coming true. Add Anthrax to that festival lineup and I am gonna be one very happy 37 year old.

Movie: 2008 was a much better movie year for me (The Wrestler, Zach And Miri Make A Porno), so I'll just say Michael Jackson's This Is It.

End Game - I think this is the only 'new' release I have purchased in 2009 ... time to expand one's horizon's.

Hopefully I can say 'Worship Music' sooner rather than later .
