Better door Insulating.....

hey guys, I'm getting alot of sound coming from my door into my tracking room.

It is just a cheap door I bought at Home Depot ($60)

I line one side of it with foam and there is no actual gaps anywhere where it meets the frame. But I think alot so sound is actually coming right thru the door cause it is not dense enough or something.:zombie:

Any links to a place where I can buy a more "dense" interior size door? Or a material I can glue onto it or something ??:Smokin:

I bought one from Menards for $120 or so. It is a solid core door. Seems to help quite a bit. When I bought the house it didn't have a door on the office.

so ya think I would be better off just replacing the door with a "solid core" door......rather than trying to glue some kinda material to one side of it?

Replace with solid core door, and apply some weatherstripping if necessary.

You can get Neoprene weatherstripping as well, which will create a very nice seal.

Or if you're really handy you can take apart the door and fill it with materials instead of gluing them onto it. It's not as hard as you'd think, especially if you're handy with a hammer and a few nails. If not, then just get a solid door.
