i'm about to make another opeth purchase here...i would by all 3, but cash is quite tight at the moment!!!

so it's between these 3 that i'm choosing:

would y'all be so kind as to educate me on these 3? i'm looking for something really really dark...moody...atmospheric.

I think it depends on what you've heard so far, but based on "dark... moody..atmospheric" I say Morningrise.

i went and bought morningrise...(quick i know, i live about a block from the store!) so far, i'm really loving it!!!

also, i came home and i just realized i still had some free downloads from emusic, 10 to be exact...so i downloaded still life to!!! haven't listened to it though...

so, i guess My arms... is next, then i'll have all of their studio records! hoorah.

but i also ran into a problem...emusic had all of still life except "Serenity painted death"...so i still don't have that track!

would anyone be willing to send it to me through email???

^ yeah...after listening to about half of both albums...i think Still Life is way cooler...really awesome. but then again, thats just a quick opinion...could change over time.

again, if any of y'all have Serenity Painted Death, and wouldn't mind sending it to me...i'd be eternally grateful!

I'd definitley say Still Life is my more favourite over Morningrise, but I do love Morningrise though. I'd definitley say Still Life is my favourite Opeth album.

haha... still life av, mayh quote in sig, and recommends morningrise

honestly each of them are masterpieces. buy the one you think looks coolest or the cheapest. then work from there.

Definitely Still Life.

All three are moody and atmospheric, but to me MR doesn't have a very dark vibe, and Still Life is better than MAYH.
