A. They had no choice but to acknowledge him, they wouldn't be shit if it wasn't for him
B. As previously stated here, he doesn't like to be the one kickig stuff off these days and its called 'being polite'. Dave still slags Metallica off a lot, and vice versa.

Cliff had more of a contribution than Dave ever did, what did Dave do? He wrote some riffs, Cliff fucking wrote the songs, taught James how to harmonize, and was really the only one in the band who knew theory. He also pretty much had the final say over everything Metallica did.

i reckon it could logistically happen, theres no reason that the members who don't get on would ever have to cross paths, the whole thing would be so ridiculously tightly scheduled that the bands would never meet, techs would take care of everything so all the bands had to do would be to get to stage and play.
they would have scheduled times to come and go, load in and out,
if some band members who had no grudges or disagreements wanted to hang out they could, but it would be run in such a way that they wouldnt, unless they went out of their way to.
it would be such a massive success of a tour, it would fill stadiums easily. who WOULDNT pay to see that? other than stupid narrow minded fans of all the bands involved who let things other than music make their decisions on bands, and would potentially ruin it for others who would KILL to see that lineup.

He was able to attend but he didn't want to be there as he felt it was an insult from Lars to ask him to watch Metallica be inducted and the only way he would be there if Mega..... got inducted themselves and even Lars couldn't stop it
