Yeah, but like, wtf & shit. o_O W T F IS THIS STUFF?!?! It is soooo far out in left field.
it's not considered left field here at all, salty licquorice is very common and loved in sweden (and finland, as mr. lehto will attest to)

the thing is that a lot of countries prohibit use of ammonium chloride, the salt that's used, in food... i dunno how USA is (but don't worry it's not DANGEROUS unless you consume like 100 kilos a day of the stuff) but anyhoo, that's kinda prevented the SALT LICQUORICE WORLD DOMINATION

EDIT: These fucking things ARE NOT licorice!
ok, i might agree, they're more of a pure salmiak candy, but how about "SALT & BLANDAT" then! that's proper salty licorice -- sweet licorice + ammonium chloride

Ammonium Chloride & Licorice. Oh ok....Salt = Sodium Chloride though. No wonder those slated licorice tasted like weird salt type of whatever. I actually kinda liked it after a while. It took some getting used to though. Only the black licorice though...the red and ass looking ones were straight up fucking cringe worthy. I can get imported salted licorice at that candy store but I prefer regular ol' hard black licorice, which I did get a bigass baf of. mmmm

i know regular salt is sodium chloride, but what's used in licorice is ammonium chloride

haha yeah the red ones and the light brown ones are my least favourite from salt & blandat... they're flavoured with chili & honey respectively... i still like them but not as much as the others

never tried it myself though!

Oh yeah, the best is 3 x bags of Sisu Horna and 0,7L Leijona-viina. Hornas are very much like Lakritsal, but melt better. :D

"Salmiakki (Finnish) or salmiak (Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Dutch) is a salty confectionery that many people in the Nordic countries love. Many agree that it is an acquired taste and is generally loathed outside Europe in a similar manner that vegemite is loathed outside Australia."

hahaha
