Thought you all should check this out-- this is the new project from Angra's guitarist Rafael Bittencourt. This is releasing in Japan only for now, and will hopefully release in the US/Europe soon. I think the music shows some of the traditional elements found in Angra that is reflected in Rafael's songs like Acid Rain on Rebirth, but also delves into straightforward melodic rock with songs like Holding Back the Fire. Rafael still maintains the Holy Land-era Brazilian rhythms through some of his material which have been less evident in more recent Angra albums.

Overall this is a great debut effort, and a project which will continue to develop and explore different territories beyond the Angra realm-- It has been interesting to listen to the albums that Andre Matos, Almah, Kiko and Rafael have put out individually. They are a tremendously talented band, and their diversity of styles between soaring power metal vocals of Matos, the classical/shred sensibilities of Kiko, the raw edge of Edu, and the melodic diversity of Rafael make them a unique force still on the scene..
