I picked this up from a use cd shop over the weekend and really like it, well the vocals aren't that great IMO, but the music is brilliant. Any other groups like this?:kickass:

Yeah it's not bad at all, they manage to mix the electronic sounds into the music quite well, without either one taking to much control... and the synth programming is really nice, even bordering on some interesting psychedelic and industrial work here and there. I think I'll come to like the vocal style... and I eagerly await their next album coz I think when they fully come into their own they will blow the scene away!

The vocals are similar to the Soulbreach album from last year (unrelated band but whatever)...gruff shouting instead of screaming, almost Pantera-ish...they don't QUITE fit, and the verse(s) on the song on their Myspace is lame other than the good synth programming, but the music is cool otherwise. I like the new "synthetic"/techno-y style of metal that's coming about now. Have you heard (earlier) Shade Empire?

Yes, as they get a bit too pretentious and overwrought on the newest effort. That was my experience anyway. First two full-lengths are great stuff.

Cheers :D Will grab them next week on pay day... yeah I love good synth work with metal, it can go quite well... am setting up my little synth studio here in Aus... looking to work with some local metal bands and do a bit of industrial/guitar tinged stuff myself... have a good mate whose death metal band fell part last year and we've been experiementing with dark ambient and industrial with some nice riffs and solos mixed in...

Cool, I'd like to hear it, please post in this forum when it happens!...I will move your post to the self promotion thread, but I never check there so it'll be easier anyway :p I'm too lazy to keep track of that forum also.

If you haven't heard and do not mind metalcore-ish stuff, get Raunchy's latest two albums.

cheers will check them out... yeah have been dj'ing ambient and drone music here in Aus and in Japan for the last oh 6-7 years... finally decided it's time to have a hand at making something... right now am just saving for some good studio onitors, midi keyboard and sound card... then will look at getting a Moog and Virus synthersizer... am quite big into the glitchy sound slike Aphexy Twin, Venetian Snares and Autechere to name a few of the bigger names, but definitely want to make use of my mate's guitar skills... we're not sure about a name for our groupyet but so far Servants ov Doom suits the sound we're coming out with...

I also was given a couple of Anaal Nathrakh albums by a mate on the weekend to listen to and I love them, will buy my own copies soon as well, might also influence me a bit... :headbang:
