Black Metal with Industrial/Techno Drum Computer

Helheim (Nor) - Fenris

This is NOT the same Helheim from Norway that released Jormundgand; they used to be known as The Helheim Society. This EP doesn't particularly sound like Blacklodge - it's more akin to early Mysticum - but they are most definitely one of the pioneers of the Industrial/Black Metal sound. I imagine you'd love this and I reckon it's essential listening for you if you're able to find it.

They sound a bit like Mysticum but sound a bit too standard in terms of drumming. And the vocals are rather annoying.

I've been scouring Myspace and Metal-Archives for similar bands, and it looks like Blacklodge are rather unique in this regard. The only other band I found that's doing what I'm looking for is called oOo.

Just out of curiosity Zephyrus, do you listen to any bands of like a 'terror' ebm style? I know it's not what you're looking for, it's not even metal, but you may like some bands. A lot of them make use of distorted vocals and stuff. A band like Dawn of Ashes, and I believe in the future they may incorporate guitars into their music.

Ephel Duath - Rephormula

I have listened to that cd countless times, and I am still picking out things I haven't noticed before even now. It's one of my favorites.

That the kind of drumming I'm after (throw in some faster rhythms too, though). It sounds great but I feel such a lacking when I know how great it would sound if you put some black metal guitars on top of it.

The first thing that came to mind when I heard this band was Havoc Unit. It's industrial black metal with lots of electronic effects.

I've also taken a liking to what I've heard from ...And Oceans' Cypher album. But my priority is the techno drumming combined with black metal guitars.

I second the secondation! Wait, can I do that?

Do try Havoc Unit. In case you didn't know, it's pretty much ...And Oceans under a different name, but the music is quite different.
