Bloodbath stealing riffs from Cannibal Corpse?

Hello, I am a casual listener of both Cannibal Corpse and Bloodbath. Today I was listening to the song 'Draped in Disease' by Bloodbath, it sounded very similar to Cannibal Corpse's 'Drowning In Viscera'. If someone could help me clear this up, as I have the impression that Bloodbath have been stealing various riffs from this band, as I dig deeper into Cannibal Corpse's discography I find more ideas that seem to have been plagiarized by the Bloodbath crew.

The lyrics for the song 'Eaten' also seem to have been taken from CC's newest album, kill. These lyrics go hand and hand with each other.

Here's an extract from CC's Song, Make Them Suffer:
"Extreme pain is what they need to feel for the rest of their lives
Misery and despair leaves their souls when infinity ends"

Now the Bloodbath lyric for Eaten: "To see my flesh devoured before my eyes. I'm here for you I volunteer as a human sacrifice"

Well I can clearly see the correlation, please share views on my recent discovery.

the song Eaten is two years old, so how should Dan "steal" those lyrics?

hhhmmmmm......

can't see it myself, maybe your looking a bit to deep into things :kickass:

Also.... the thing about eaten as said above kinda of ruins your theory.

Nightmares Made Flesh came out before KILL...Do your homework before you come on the board and say nonsense.

And also understand Bloodbath was not made to be a "new and hip" band...they were created for the sole love of older Death Metal.

the mighty dan swano can time travel, so he went forward and stole lyrics from cannibal corpse's kill :sarcasm:

Haha, Bloodbath will always destroy Cannibal Corpse, so if anyone stole anything, it was CC that stole from our boys in Bloodbath.

I would have to agree that bloodbath would never think of taking another bands riffs. that band has more talent in it than cc any day, just look at all the side projects and all are successful. what you heard was genre similarities. that is all, now stop thinking or you might end up hurting yourself

i know that's just your oppinion but sincerly i can't see ANYTHING simillar on that two extracts.. if i was going to do that job on finding simillarities on a musical genre i would surelly point out some closer stuff.. it is obvious that simillarities can be found since lyrical themes are usually the same..

Well, the lyrical part isn't so hard to understand. Half of the brutal death bands out there use the same vocabulary consisting of words like "dismember", "devour", "gore", "entrails" etc. So the fact that CC and BB have somewhat similar vocals at times is no big surprise. Anyway, I couldn't really see the similarity in your example, but maybe it's just me...

How are they the same? Just classic death words.

:headbang: Ok if u were a "casual listener" to Cannibal Corpse and Bloodbath you would fuckin kno that Nightmares made Flesh can out before Kill so if anyone copied material cannibal corpse did...even tho that comparison isnt even that great...
cannibal corpse is talkin bout fuckin makin people pay for shit they did..like vengence...
bloodbath is talkin about willingly sacrificing urslef for some cannibal bitches...
also the only similarily in drowning in viscera & draped in disease is the harmonic ...which a totally differnet note

SO sit back & injoy my home made animation...

He's a rather boring and average drummer. Alex on the other hand is one of the best bassists in death metal...the talent definetly lies there.
