I've been trying for an hour now,and if I fell into a bucket of nipples I'd come up sucking my thumb

1. Upload the image (make sure it's 100x100, otherwise it won't look to great) onto your webspace.

2. Go into your profile (click on the profile bit in the top left corner, then click on Edit Profile).

3. Scroll all the way down the page to 'user avatar'. Type in the entire URL of where the avatar is - if yours is called smashed.jpg and is on http://www.thehotmenofmaidendownunder.com.au, then you would have to type http://www.thehotmenofmaidendownunder.com.au/smashed.jpg.

Then click on Submit Modifications and Bob's your aunty's live-in lover!

a) You don't have any webspace

and

b) You've no idea how to crop/resize a .jpg file to 100 x 100?

Perhaps I should just apply for the job of MD's resident village idiot. Duh...

Oh, an make sure it's not space at Tripod, Geocities, etc. because they don't let you "remote link" images (meaning that unless it's being shown on a page at their site, it won't show up)...

Most decent ISPs give you webspace free of charge. Check out your ISP's homepage for more information.

But for everyone else, you need a FTP client like Cute FTP ( http://www.globalscape.com ... I think!) to transfer the pics onto your webspace.

You'll also need your login details from your ISP - most of them have that kind of stuff on their HELP section of their website or they can talk you through it if you call tech-support.

Yes - if you're with an ISP that doesn't offer free webspace... get a new ISP!!
