The Misfits singer wasn't sick, he was in the slammer! I think it was in DC. He had gotten into a fight.
Personally, I would not mess with a Misfit.
SICK? Where'd you hear that falsehood at my man? He was indeed in the slammer. I remember during Anthrax's set, after the crowd participation part of "Antisocial," John Bush remarked, "hey, it's the Misfits who need a singer." I thought it was a dis, because I was unaware that Micheal Graves was in jail. After Anthrax's set, my sister, some friends and I are backstage, and here comes Jerry Only! Jerry Only!!!
Jerry, grabs my shoulder and says "don't ever give up dude, never give up!" and walked off. So I'm like "Hey Charlie, what did he mean. Then he told me the story. One of those life changing moments!!! Yeah, Kieth Capulto, Corpsegrinder, Bush, Ian, the guy from the Spudmonsters, Jerry Only, and several Clevelanders took part in the vox. Fun show!!! It was taped, but it was taped by the Misfits. It should look great, because they were up in the front of the balcony filming. But I haven't seen it on the bootleg market.
P.S.
The summer of 1996 was sooooooooooo awesome for me. I had the girl of my dreams (don't even ask), KISS were back (I saw 4 killer shows that year) I hung out with Anthrax a couple of times, I turned a crappy Blazer into an awesome ride (again don't ask). "If I knew then what I know now.............."
