BORAT!

hmmm, interesting bit from the UK about the Romanian village used in the film

although, the fat lady that played Borat's wife, was throwing out curses like you would not believe when yelling at him ... so it makes it a bit hard to believe that they did not know this was some comedy and not a doc.

damn gypsies :loco: ... everyone just wants a piece of this mullah now

Finally caught this movie today after viewing five pages of hype. I'll give it 2 and a half stars. Sure it was interesting and I smirked throughout, but not once did I have a spell of uncontrollable laughter. Pure rental material.

You sir, aren't as cultured as you purport to be

What was so funny about it mate?!?! Explain to me what I am missing. It was good don't get me wrong, but not deserving of its own thread!!!! All discussion should have remained in the movies thread as to not clutter up a forum that is disposed to linear guided discussion. Last God honest ball busting comedy I viewed was 40 yr old virgin. Nothing has touched it since.

Borat= Entertaining, but far from a ball buster.

I think Borat can be mostly appreciated if you are an immigrant to this country ...
I actually don't know how Americans like it ...

Actually, I'm in Germany (I have the DE to stand for Deutschland) Sometimes I wish i would have went to Denmark, seeing as it was voted the happiest place on Earth or something like that.

But, things are cool here. It's nice being able to drink at 18 and I'm a lot closer to shows and some bigger festivals (Though I won't be able to stay for Wacken)

God I thought 40 Year Old Virgin was such crap I turned it off after 20 minutes. I heard it gets a lot better, but there is no fucking way it can tough the genius of Borat!

Reign in Acai, you're probably the kind of person Cohen's trying to make fun of so of course you don't think its that funny! :loco:

Quite funny but maybe there was too much already in the trailer, I expected more. I have no regret though

It's been two weeks now yeah, we're not Kazakhstan  . But you're right to ask this cause nobody knew about Borat before. It's really popular atm, eventhough the excitement will vanish quite soon but I think it has been successful enough here to break even*. I'm glad I never saw any extract of the french-translated version though. There's no better way to kill the fun.
