Born of Osiris is giving away stems for their song "MCHINE"

I edited drums on this and had the multitracks of all the programming/synth stuff (their drummer does it all) at one point; the composition is absolutely gorgeous.

First off, that's sick that you edited drums to this. Do you know what they used for the kick? To me it sounds like the mic'd signal. But I saw someone else said they only took triggers for kick and toms.

I don't love the mix of TWDA so I used the stems to try and make it sound more like The New Reign. I love that they gave these out, I think all bands should post stems of their albums as a separate purchase. If you're not happy with the mix, just remix it yourself.

That was me who said that. The mic'd tracks were overheads, rooms, cymbal spots, snare top, and then triggers for the rest. No mics for kick or toms were ever recorded.

Did you and Joey do all the sampling/edits/mixing for drums?

And even other instruments, or was a lot done at the studio they recorded at and themselves, they seem to have had pre pro for aaaaggess and the guitar tone is very boo.

Killer record, Imaginary Condition, Source Field and Absolution are such great compositions, probably Cam's songs.

Nick Sampson produced and tracked. Band did all their own prepro and most of the synth writing. I edited drums. Joey mixed/mastered.

Hi!

First of all, thanks for the stems, I'm using the drums as my reference and I really LOVE the snare.

I have been many days trying to get mine to sound like that, but meh.

Does anyone have any idea how to get that sound? snare used, samples, eq, comp, whatever.

BTW, BOO's snare reminds me of the IHW one(In Hearts Wake), you can download the stems of a song of them here: http://unfdcentral.com/healer/
they sound amazing! :worship:

Don't know if this is the right forum, but just wanted to tip you guys that Born of Osiris is giving away free stems from their song "M∆CHINE". I had a lot of fun listening to it, and really see how individual tracks really sound like in a high-quality production like this when solo'd. Hope you have as much fun as I have!

EDIT: They decided to take it down, for whatever reason. So I reuploaded it, grab it here;
