I love the HM-2 sound, but were you using it along with the amp's own gain? I think at a certain point it just gets too muddy and and noisy to use unless it's primarily put on the clean channel.

Yeah, i used it, as you can hear, with some of the amps gain. And it was noisy and muddy as hell - but loads of fun!

Doesn't the JCM 800 2203KK have an integral noise gate function?

Hi Robert!
It has a built in Noisegate, in fact a really good one. But when it comes to a certain point (all controls on 10 on the Hm2 + some amp gain ) it's just too much!
