at about 06.00 in brave (the "brave try the meaning off loss", part).

The guitar riff that kicks there has this really cool effect i´ve been trying to figure out what it is, but i can´t:/
It sound almost like the distorted guitar notes "break"... i dunno i can´t explain it.... just listen and you will hear it! (most noticible in headphones)

There are 3 guitars recorded in that part

1) Clean guitars playing the high notes
2) Distorted guitars playing arpeggios
3) Highly distorted guitars playing rhythms at back.

The effect you talk about is because of the high gain of the guitar tone which makes it dirty and causes the noise.

yeah i was suspecting it was 3 guitars.
but its´that disonant sound, that "dirty"... it sounds like it´s swelling up or something, kinda lika a feedback, but still i doesn´t really sound like regular feedback... maybe they used a volume pedal?
i love the sound of it

it is probably because of the diminished chords that are played in the riff. Because when our band played it live we had the same sound in the record when we play the rhytm and the arpaggios together.

if you wanna try it: get your guitars gain to a high level =)

and play this chord

C#|------5-----
G#|----2-------
Eb|--0----------
