Brave Murder Day lyrics

Recently something has been baffling me - what the hell are the lyrics to the entire Brave Murder Day album on about???
I'll readily admit that I'm not all that good a deciphering metaphors and things like that but I've spent some time and they just baffle me.
Obviously the song "Day" isn't too difficult to work out - but the rest.... AAARGH!
There's a lot of beautiful imagry in them and I was wondering if they'd done a Fields of the Nephilim and just fit something that sounds right to the music - but everyone seems to have their own idea about the lyrics. It would be cool if people would post up their interpretation of the lyrics so:
1) I can try to understand them
and
2) To see if people have different ideas about them.

I'm quite new to Katatonia and BMD is the only album I've got. As 12 is my favourite song on there (on par with Day) I'll have to check out some of their older stuff.
