Brave Words new layout

BWBK (www.bravewords.com) just updated their website layout. Although many of us hate change, I think it looks pretty cool. I'm sure there were many good reasons behind the change. My other go-to site, www.melodicrock.com, also underwent a serious layout overhaul recently.

As an aspiring web developer, I'm curious what you guys think when layouts change like this. What about the new layout do you like? What about the old layout do you miss? What do you think makes for a "good" layout?

Great site, but the layout was always horrible. Font too small, everything was cluttered, etc. Much better now.

I agree the old style was lackluster late 90s hangover material. But the new one feels like...every other site on the internet now. No personality, no flair. The UI guy inside of me is crying bitter tears.

I miss the music player they had on the previous site. It looks like all they have for media, so far, are videos. I didn't mind how the site used to be, but I'm sure the new layout is much more friendly to mobile devices.
