I just think it would be nice if they finally found an actual cure for something, anything ... instead of "treatments" and ways you can "live with" ailments

Not saying they need to be able to cure cancer or anything in the next 10 years but damn, they can't even find a cure for something stupid like herpes

Haha yep . I remember the Chris Rock special where he was talking about this , the last fuckin thing cured was Polio , and now they just make shit that won't cure you , it'll just get you to the next stop so they can still wring money out of your ass. Big Pharma is so fucked up. Polio was cured by Jonas Salk in the fuckin EISENHOWER era. After they lost all that money on treating Polio victims they probably had a meeting and said , OK no more cures , just shit that will keep them from dying as long as possible.

The more humanity plays God, the more we're going to fuck ourselves over. We may have this technology, which is incredible for sure, but we're still truly primitive creatures hell bent on killing each other and fucking each other over. Altruistic, kind, peaceful people are the exception, not the majority. I can only see this being abused as time goes on.
