Brittany knew how to sing in their Mickey Mouse club. After the popularity got to her, no more.

Christina Agulera has a phenomenal voice. Pick up her cd "back to basics" for some great blues stuff from her. Oh... And her up against the ropes, surrounded by thug ass black guys , in the dirty video. Nuff said

Rihanna has been a media stunt from the beginning. Truly a nice girl, but right up their with Brittany and the Olsen twins in terms if media influence(minus the drugs but CB was a good sub)

Lady gaga has say taken her "everyone's a monster" thing to seriously. She's the new MJ( but nowhere near the stature.) look up her solo piano stuff before she went by lady gaga and she blows you away. She's all about the show though now.

JT is just a solid musician/business man, right up there with jay z. Except he needs to date a break up with Brit again so we can have a other cry me a river

The point is.. There's great musicians and thes great eye candy. The reason they're famous is they figured out how to work with what god gave em.

And no shame in realizing talent of different varieties. Except the one that have you the herpledurple. That has shame

Britney and most of this kind of pop singers always have some kind of talent, whether that would be her voice, looks, charisma, dancing, showmanship etc. You just can't make it to that level of success without some kind of talent. What I have a problem with is when people credit her for the quality of her songs when we know that, like many pop singers, she had little or nothing to do with writing them.

I'm not saying it was all down to her that they were great albums for the exact reason you said, because looking at the credits, all of her best stuff was written by the swedish max dude. However his philosophy on it was "it's my job to write a great song that could go somewhere, and then the singer's job to execute it and make something truly special' which imo just about sums it up
